Padiham – 132 kV GIS Substation

WCS were asked to provide both the temporary works design and to provide civils assurance for the permanent works design for Hitachi Energy at Padiham National Grid substation, Burnley.

The project involved the construction of a new 132kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) building to replace the aging infrastructure. And our design for a covered walkway ensured safe access and egress for operatives through the live switch yard during the works.
