About this Project

WCS was called onsite by our partner J Murphy & Sons Ltd. after significant defects were encountered at this rail overbridge in Shadwell, East London. We carried out multiple inspections to inform Network Rail’s assessment team and identified multiple defects to the bridge structure, including primary and secondary girders, and significant section loss to the existing bearing stiffeners.

 We have since successfully delivered design for both permanent works repairs and the temporary works necessary to allow the removal of speed restrictions put in place by Network Rail on discovery of the defects.
