We are delighted to announce the award by SPL POWERLINES UK HOLDING LIMITED to WCS of the civil design of East Hyde and Napsbury substations, HV cable routes and DNO supply on the Midland Mainline Electrification project. Working closely with our client and Network Rail this work is required to implement the detailed design of the upgrade needed to the existing OLE infrastructure and Power system to enable the operation of 6 additional Electric Powered trains per hour between St Pancras Station and and Bedford Station.
This project builds upon the great work our substations team has produced on the Key Output 1 section of the project with the electrical and civils works we have carried out nearing completion. Some very welcome feedback we received for this project from the end client below:
