At Padiham National Grid substation near Burnley, our initial remit to provide civils assurance for Hitachi Energy on the design of a new 132kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) building was quickly expanded to providing temporary works design in the form of a covered walkway through the live switch yard to allow safe access to the works. Happily, our breadth of expertise and adaptability meant that we were able to help our client achieve the necessary approvals for the permanent works design, and quickly respond to the site constraints to ensure a positive outcome.
